Andrea is an Associate Director in the Immunotherapies and Preclinical Research Department at BioNTech SE in Mainz, Germany. Andrea holds a MSc in Biomedicine and did her PhD at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) investigating the interplay between T cell motility and HIV cell-to-cell spread. Her postdoc research at the EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) focused on T cell migration in dense environments as found in solid tumors. Upon joining BioNTech SE in 2021, she has been working on enhancing anti-tumor immune responses with immunomodulatory antibodies. She has contributed to several IND filings and within her team aims to elucidate the mechanisms of action of single and combination antibody therapies.
