Aran Labrijn, PhDDirector, Antibody Research and Technologies at GenmabSpeaker
Profile
Aran F. Labrijn has been active in the field of antibody research (both fundamental and applied) for more than 25 years. He holds a PhD in molecular immunology from the University of Amsterdam (2004). In 2002, he joined Genmab where he is currently a director in the department of antibody research and technologies. He has a strong interest in understanding the antibody structure-function relationship and applying this knowledge to innovate antibody therapeutics. As such he has contributed to the discovery and understanding of fundamental principles in antibody biology (e.g. IgG4 Fab-arm exchange, complement activation) and leveraged these principles to develop broadly applicable antibody format technologies (e.g. the DuoBody® bispecific antibody platform) as well as product- or concept-tailored antibody formats.
