Krista KinneerDirector, Oncology Translational Medicine at AstraZenecaSpeaker
Profile
Krista is a research scientist with a career focused on basic cell biology research and development of antibody-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. For more than 20 years, her work has primarily focused on the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), a type of drug designed to selectively deliver toxic chemotherapeutic agents directly to tumor cells. Over the course of her career, she has initiated several programs across the spectrum of drug development, spanning early concept/target identification and payload development to human clinical trials, and built and led a team of scientists responsible for delivery of a portfolio of early-stage ADCs targeting hematologic and solid tumors. A desire to understand the underlying biology and to discover biomarkers of ADC clinical response led to her current role of Director, Oncology Translational Medicine, where she is responsible for designing and implementing translational medicine strategies for ADCs in multiple Ph2 and Ph3 clinical trials. Beyond this, Krista is a passionate advocate and mentor for early-career scientists in industry and academia and for students who are interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
