Mark TornettaSenior Director, Discovery Services at BiointronSpeaker
Profile
Mark Tornetta began his 35 year career in biologics discovery at SmithKline Beecham/GSK, where he built his foundational antibody engineering expertise (contributing to Nucala) and contributed to deorphanization efforts for GPCR targets (including C3aR). He advanced his antibody engineering career at Centocor/Janssen (J&J), mastering phage display methodologies to support the discovery of therapeutic antibodies such as Talvey and Melrilimab. At Tavotek Biotherapeutics, he deepened his expertise in synthetic antibody discovery by developing the TavoSelect platform, building a portfolio of single-domain antibodies (VHH/VHO) to create novel biologics and enhance existing modalities. As Senior Director of Discovery Sciences at Biointron, he continues to drive lead candidate generation with a focus on strengthening clinical confidence through integrated discovery technologies that de-risk candidates earlier in development. He holds a BS in Biology from Widener University and an MS in Molecular Biology from Drexel University.
