David Jenkins

SVP, Research and External Innovation at Ipsen

David Jenkins joined Ipsen in 2018, holding various roles within our External Innovation organization and in 2023 was appointed Senior Vice President, Head of Research & External Innovation, leading the division. Within his role, David oversees Ipsen’s External Innovation strategy within Research and Development, focusing on partnership opportunities at all stages of development aligned to Ipsen’s global strategy across Oncology, Rare Disease and Neuroscience. David is also responsible for overseeing Ipsen’s early research portfolio.

With over twenty years of biotech and industry experience, David previously led TESARO’s immune-oncology translational research and development activities, advancing pioneering programs together with academic and industrial collaborators.

Prior to this, he held various positions of increasing responsibility within Research and Development at AstraZeneca/MedImmune as well as at Novartis with a focus on small molecule and biological therapeutics.

David received his Masters and PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge, U.K.
