Dr. Krummen is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California San Diego and a co-inventor and co-founder of Vektor Medical, an artificial intelligence company which uses the 12-lead ECG to map the sources of cardiac arrhythmias. His laboratory focuses on the development of novel technologies to improve the care of cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Krummen studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Notre Dame and earned his Medical Doctorate and completed Internal Medicine residency at Ohio State University. He then completed fellowships in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at the University of California San Diego. He has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the University of California Center for Accelerated Innovation, and the UCSD Rady School of Management. Dr. Krummen received the UCSD Chancellor’s Innovation Award in 2024 for the Most Innovative Startup. He received the UCSD Chief Internal Medicine Resident Teaching Award in 2016, and received the UCSD Schulman Award for Research in 2006, 2007, and 2010. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
