Eric Mertz, SVP Head of International Business Development & Strategic Delivery Management - Pharma at CENTOGENE, is an accomplished global business executive with a wealth of experience spanning mature and emerging markets in product development, pharma services, and life sciences. Over his distinguished career of more than 20 years, Eric has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, driving the success of teams across various health consulting and technology companies, as well as Contract Research Organizations (CROs). With the last 15 years of his career focused on Real-World Evidence (RWE), Eric has played a pivotal role in helping biopharmaceutical companies develop and implement their RWE strategies. He joins CENTOGENE from Aetion, where he served as VP - General Manager of Growth & Operations, significantly expanding Aetion's footprint and client engagement in Europe and Japan. Before his tenure at Aetion, Eric spent eight years at IQVIA, where he led the Go-to-Market strategy and sales team for the Real-World-Solutions Business Unit in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His extensive experience also includes five years working within Quintiles Centre of Excellence in rare diseases – supporting companies in fulfilling their post-marketing commitments. Eric holds an MBA in Information Technology and Services from Montpellier Business School in France.
