Johannes has over 30 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He has held leadership positions in Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Facilities, Engineering and Development of Manufacturing Facilities in small, medium, and large biopharmaceutical companies in Germany, Canada, USA, and Ireland.

Johannes is the General Manager and founder Cilatus BioPharma Consulting AG, a CMC Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs and Quality consulting company based in Switzerland and founder and director of Cilatus Manufacturing Services, an independent QP certification and release service company, based in Ireland. Since May 2023, the Cilatus Group companies are part of Paris-based Product Life Group a world-wide operating consulting group for development, market access, life cycle, and digital transformation. Johannes leads the Product Development Business Unit of Product Life Group.

Prior to founding Cilatus, Johannes served as Executive Vice President, Head of Operations and Site Manager for Elan Pharmaceutical International, was one of the co-founding Executives of Prothena Bioscience. Johannes held Senior Management positions at Genentech, Biogen, IDEC Pharmaceuticals, and Bayer.

Johannes earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University, SC, USA and his Dipl.-Ing. Verfahrenstechnik from RWTH in Aachen, Germany.
