Kelly GrayDirector, Open Innovation at AstraZenecaSpeaker
Profile
In my role I am passionate about driving and enabling science through collaboration, strongly believing that working together is the key to advancing science. I trained as a cell biologist and enjoyed 10 years of academic research as a PhD student and postdoctoral researcher. In 2015, I transitioned to a role at AstraZeneca, initially as part of the safety organisation and currently as part of the team delivering our externally facing Open Innovation (OI) programme. As part of my role, I have led our preclinical collaborations, including the non-clinical research (NCRs) studies with marketed assets, and have led our global CoSolve and CoSolve sustainability crowdsourcing challenge programmes. In 2024, I took the leadership role for the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) programme for AstraZeneca, developing and supporting new scientific collaboration opportunities through EU public-private partnerships. I am an active member of the not-for-profit ELRIG organisation, currently serving as a member of the General Committee.
