GETTING AROUND
There is a variety of transportation methods available during your time in Stockholm. In keeping with our sustainability initiatives, we highly encourage you to make use of Stockholm’s excellent public transportation services. Travel fast, efficiently and sustainably!
Transportation Information: To and from the Airport
Stockholm’s international airport is Stockholm Arlanda Airport (IATA: ARN), located 37 km north of the city.
BY TRAIN - Your fastest and most environmental-friendly option
Staying at a city center hotel?
Take the Arlanda Express. Trains depart every 10 minutes, and the journey takes 18 minutes from the airport to Stockholm’s central station (“T-Centralen”).
Get a 20% discount with code: BEU24. To book your ticket, visit https://www.arlandaexpress.com/
Going directly to the conference, travelling with a bit of luggage?
For a direct connection with similar travel time but without changing trains at the busy central station, we recommend using commuter train #40 in the direction of Södertälje.
Trains depart twice per hour from Arlanda Central (also called Arlanda C). The travel time is 50 minutes.
The stop for Stockholmsmässan is Älvsjö station, from where it is a very short walk under a mostly covered pathway to the venue’s main entrance.
Check departure times on Google Maps or on SL.se (in Swedish). You can pay contactless by placing your credit card or mobile device onto the card readers at automatic barriers or commuter train stations.
BY BUS (fossil free)
There is also a bus service that runs with renewable diesel between Arlanda airport and the City Terminal – located next to Stockholm’s central station. Buses depart every 10 to 15 minutes. The travel time is 40-45 minutes. You can buy tickets online, which are then valid for up to three months and for any departure.
BY TAXI
Taxi and limousine services are available at fixed rates. Travel time is between 35 and 50 minutes, depending on the time of day.
You can find taxis at the airport outside the arrival hall of terminal 5 and outside terminal 2. At both terminals, taxi rank officers are happy to help you.
Please note: Taxi fares in Sweden aren't regulated, which means that prices can vary significantly between companies. With this in mind, we recommend that you use the services of well-known firms like Taxi Stockholm, Taxi 020 and Taxi Kurir. Please also refer to our taxi advice further below.

Taking a taxi - Advice and tips for the taxi journey
In Sweden, free pricing prevails, which means that prices can vary greatly. It is your responsibility to check the prices before getting into the car. The prices must always be in Swedish kronor. We recommend booking a fixed price taxi if you want to know how much the journey will cost in advance
Therefore, when choosing a taxi, always check that…
- The vehicle has yellow number plates and that a taximeter is installed.
- The price information can be clearly seen outside and inside the vehicle.
- The taxi driver's ID is clearly visible.
Request a quote before the trip starts
The taxi driver must provide a binding price statement if the comparative price for the taxi journey exceeds SEK 500. If you have received a fixed price, it must be entered and visible in the taxi meter before the journey starts. The price statement must indicate a maximum price for the trip.
- There must always be price information on the car.
- Price information must be provided when the trip is ordered.
- The comparative price indicated on the yellow sticker indicates a typical journey of 10 kilometers which takes 15 minutes.
- Free pricing applies, but as a customer you get to choose the taxi company that suits you best.
- Always request a taxi meter receipt on your journey.
We recommend that you use the services of well-known firms like Taxi Stockholm, Taxi 020 and Taxi Kurir.
