Profile

Dr. Kelli Hunsucker is an Assistant Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology, USA. Her research focuses on biofouling organisms, both micro and macro, and their settlement on anthropogenic surfaces (ship hulls, aquaculture nets, oceanographic instrumentation). She works with government, industry, and academia to research, test, and design novel systems to determine their efficacy in biofouling management. Currently her team is working to study the application of ultraviolet light (UVC) for biofouling prevention and elimination on naval ship hulls and niche areas. Dr. Hunsucker has authored over 250 technical reports, publications and book chapters on biofouling ecology and prevention.
