Alessandro drives all aspects of Universal JLABS Singapore, as well as supporting the broader ecosystem through external presence and partnerships. He leads sourcing and diligence for applicants and prospective companies for JLABS in alignment with J&J focus areas to assess strategic fit.

Alessandro led Astrazeneca’s Oncology Strategy and Clinical Development for Breast Cancer, based in Cambridge United Kingdom. He was also responsible for BD in this therapy area as well as partnerships with innovative companies using technology and AI.

Prior to Astrazeneca, Alessandro held a global role at GSK as Head of Strategy for Cell & Gene therapy which included leading R&D technology investments for all non-asset partnerships and projects with a total budget of over $100M a year. Prior to this role, Alessandro led European commercial strategy and M&A at Novartis based in Munich Germany. During his time at Novartis, he built and ran business units in Oncology and Neurology and drove a global transformation for the Corporate Finance team out of Basel. Alessandro started his career in strategy consulting at L.E.K. Consulting and IQVIA based in London, most of his work was for VC funds and early-stage biotechs. He has also held board positions and been a strategic advisor for multiple biotechs and medtechs over the last decade.
