Tony Jarkowski serves as Senior Vice President and Primary Focus Lead for Immuno-Oncology at Astellas, where he directs the strategic development of the company’s early-stage immuno-oncology pipeline from discovery through proof-of-concept.

With nearly 20 years of experience spanning academia, drug development, and business strategy, Tony brings expertise across discovery, clinical development, and global registration. Prior to Astellas, he spent eight years at Bristol Myers Squibb in leadership roles including Global Head of Search & Evaluation, Global Program Lead for early-stage assets, and Clinical Program Head. Earlier in his career at AstraZeneca, he led pivotal Phase 2 and 3 immuno-oncology trials in NSCLC, head and neck cancers, and other solid tumors, and contributed to global regulatory filings for durvalumab.

Tony has authored more than 40 publications and presentations, including work with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer on pathologic response published in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University at Buffalo and is a board-certified oncology pharmacist.
