Profile
Combining Medicine (MD) and AI (PhD) at Sorbonne University, Dr. Khai Minh Pham is an innovative entrepreneur and a leading expert in Distributed Agent Reasoning AI. He has been in the field of AI for 30 years and is the founder of the Macro-connectionist Agent Reasoning System (MARS) a unified Neuro-Symbolic AI approach that differs from Connectionism (regular Artificial Neural Networks) by considering assemblies of neurons (Agents) rather than a single neuron.
The first generation of MARS has been used in his first AI company with clients such as Amex, Chase Manhattan, Fidelity, Bank of America..., and it has been acquired by E.piphany (Nasdaq:EPNY) for US$637 Million.
The second generation of MARS has been utilized in ThinkingNode Life Science (TLS), his second AI company, to develop the first Large Reasoning Model (LRM) to generate the most advanced human digital cell clones for drug R&D. These digital cell clones are used to predict and understand cellular behavior and responses to target knockdowns before preclinical testing, as well as to drugs during each phase of clinical trials. This significantly de-risks the entire drug R&D process. Currently, bringing a new drug to market costs an average of $2.6 billion, takes 10-12 years, and has only a 4% success rate.
Dr. Pham was also a founding advisory board member of Kwaai, a non-profit AI Research and Development Lab for Personal AI.
