Rik Coeckelbergs is the Founder and Managing Director of The Banking Scene, a network organisation for bankers and is passionate about building communities and conceptualising ideas, enabling sustainable business models.

Over the years, the community has grown to 5 inspirational events in Luxembourg, Amsterdam and Brussels, the biggest for 400-500 attendees.

He advises financial services firms on their strategic challenges and is a frequent moderator and speaker at industry events. Since 2025, Rik is also a renowned book author, of the bestseller “A New Ethos in Banking – Embracing Values and Ethics for a Meaning Transformation”.

Before his entrepreneurial journey, Rik was a Payments and Management Consultant at Clear2Pay (now FIS), Business Controller at Colruyt and Senior Product Manager Daily Banking at bpost bank. In 2009, he created a LinkedIn community called “Innovation In Payments”, which today has +140,000 active global members.
