Boyana Achovski is an Energy Sector Executive and a leading voice in Europe’s energy landscape. Following her significant role as Secretary-General of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) for over 8 years, she now focuses on executive roles on multiple boards dedicated to renewable energy initiatives while actively advocating for industry advancement.

Boyana began her European affairs career at the European Parliament in Brussels and later led the Analysis and International Operations Division at Bulgartransgaz. In 2012, she joined GIE as the first seconded representative of Bulgaria’s gas infrastructure operator, advocating for the entire gas value chain. Boyana also chaired GasNaturally's Steering Committee twice.

She holds a degree in International Economic Affairs with a specialization in International Finance and a master’s in Finance and Management of International Associations from the Solvay Brussels School, alongside a certificate in Women’s Leadership from the University of Oxford.

In 2023, Boyana was named the Most Influential Energy Woman Leader of Central & Eastern Europe. Passionate about gender equality and diversity in the energy sector, she serves on the board of WiRA (Women in Renewables Alliance) and is active in WoNY, promoting gender diversity in the CEE-SEE region.
