Evans Munyuki

Award-Winning Chief Digital Officer at (Event Chairperson)

Evans Munyuki is an award-winning Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and author of several books including: Building a Digital Bank, and Up For Digital Transformation in the Gig Economy.

He is a sought-after speaker, an advocate of FinTechs and Emerging Technologies, and is a digitally savvy leader having experience as a CDO and CIO in multiple banks and fintech companies.

He was recently the Group Chief Digital Officer at Emirates National Bank of Dubai (Emirates NBD).

He is the Founder and Ex-Head of Dubai’s Digital Business Bank for SMEs, E20.

He is an experienced business leader with 25+ years of experience leading financial and technology organizations in listed companies across both mature and emerging markets.

In his career, Evans has undertaken multiple CDO, CIO and P&L business leadership roles across a combination of banks, fintech, and technology companies across markets in the USA, Dubai, South Africa, and other African markets. He has driven more than 350 digital and tech projects during this time.

Evans was CDO and CIO of a rapid growth, German-listed FinTech operating across 14 African and European markets and headquartered in South Africa.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management, Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science Degree in Electronics Engineering, all from the USA.

He has achieved more than five certifications including the following: Certified IoD Director, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

He won the award: “Digital Personality of the Year 2020”, and “FINNOVATOR OF THE YEAR - 2019” awards, both in Dubai.
