Asian sugar leadership potential and the role of biosolutions
As Asia strengthens its focus on energy security and industrial resilience, sugar is emerging as a necessity and strategic platform for bioenergy, biochemicals, and sustainable growth. Importance of access to economically viable sugars and a scale becomes very important. This session explores how Asia can build leadership in sugar-based value chains through the use of biosolutions through several themes. The speaker will discuss how with biosolutions i) existing sugar production from sugarcane can be enhanced, ii) biomass conversion economics have improved in recent years, iii) and new feedstock opportunities unique to Asia can be unlocked to build sugar leadership.
