Con-Ed Credits
Select seminars and workshops at The Buildings Show are accredited for continuing education by the following associations*:
ARIDO Professional Development Credits
Earn ARIDO PD credits by attending a seminar, keep a copy of the seminar’s certificate for your records and report it in the PD Dashboard in ARIDO’s Membership Gateway. To decide what qualifies as General Education (GE) and Health and Safety (HS) refer to the current guidelines for Professional Development for members.
BOMI Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Designation Credits
Earn BOMI credits by attending the seminars accredited by the Building Owners and Managers Institute. Credits will be granted based on the time length of the approved seminar. Attendees can earn 1 BOMI credit for each hour seminar, 1.5 BOMI credits for each hour and a half seminar, etc. Seminars that are 1 hour and 15 minutes long will only be granted 1 BOMI credit.
BSS Continuing Education Credits
Earn BSS credits by attending the seminars accredited by the Building Science Specialist Board. Credit is given based on the length of the presentation portion of the event (e.g. breaks/lunch not included). One (1) credit is earned for every hour (60 mins) of presentation time.
Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors (CAHPI)
Earn Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors (CAHPI) Membership Renewal Credits by attending any of The Buildings Show seminars. The CAHPI MRCs will be issued based on the time length of the seminar. Attendees will earn 1 CAHPI credit for each hour seminar, 1.5 CAHPI credit for each hour and a half seminar, etc. Seminars which are 1 hour and 15 minutes long will only be granted 1 CAHPI credit.
OAA ConEd Learning Hours
OAA members can earn Structured Learning under the Continuing Education (ConEd) Program, with 1.0 Structured Hour per session hour attended—seminars shorter than one hour in length are not eligible. Use your certificate/confirmation of attendance to self-report the hours to your OAA Transcript.
Professional Engineers Ontario Practice Evaluation and Knowledge (PEAK) Program
The Buildings Show (TBS) sessions offer engineering knowledge that participants may consider for their CPD needs, at their discretion. Participants may use their certificates of attendance to self-report the hours to their PEO portal account. TBS sessions are not endorsed, validated, or accredited by the PEO PEAK program. PEO’s criteria for CPD activities for the PEAK program are detailed in the “Admissible CPD” section of the PEAK web page at https://peopeak.ca.
