Steven is a recognized thought leader in Ontario’s built environment, bringing more than 16 years of experience advancing innovative construction practices through his work with the Canadian Wood Council’s WoodWorks initiative. His career has focused on expanding domestic markets and fostering greater acceptance of modern structural systems, helping designers, builders, and developers navigate evolving materials, technologies, and delivery models. As Executive Director of WoodWorks Ontario, Steven leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to driving innovation, strengthening technical capacity, and supporting project delivery across the AEC sector. His approach to market transformation emphasizes collaboration, knowledge transfer, and practical technical support—work that contributes to the broader evolution of low-carbon, high-performance construction in the province. Steven contributes his expertise to several provincial and industry bodies, including the Ontario Government’s Advanced Wood Construction Action Plan working group and the Residential Construction Council of Ontario’s Technical Council. Through these roles, he helps address emerging challenges, shape policy direction, and support strategies that enable a more resilient, sustainable, and competitive built environment.
