Daniele Forlani is a Senior Manager in EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice, specializing in sustainable fuels, low-carbon value chains, and sustainability certification systems.

With nearly ten years of experience in the energy and sustainability sector, he supports fuel producers, airlines, energy companies, traders, and industrial stakeholders in navigating the rapidly evolving sustainable fuels landscape. His expertise spans SAF, biofuels, renewable fuels compliance, sustainability certification schemes, GHG accounting, and chain of custody systems, including mass balance and emerging Book & Claim models.

Daniele has extensive experience advising clients on regulatory frameworks such as RED II/III, voluntary certification schemes including ISCC and RSB, and the development of robust sustainability and traceability systems across complex international supply chains. He is actively involved in projects related to SAF market development, sustainability claims, lifecycle emissions accounting, and innovative approaches to scaling the adoption of sustainable aviation fuels.

A qualified auditor under ISO 19011:2018 and Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, Daniele combines technical expertise with practical industry knowledge to help organizations accelerate decarbonization while ensuring regulatory compliance and market credibility.
