Profile
A widely recognized expert on Aquaculture in Africa, with over 40 years of experience. As a commercial aquaculturist he has designed, built, and operated many profitable fish farms. Actively involved in fisheries within the SADC and COMESA regional groupings, and a founder of the Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa.
Adrian specializes in planning and designing cost effective, environmentally friendly, commercial aquaculture production facilities. Has worked extensively in South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana and Sudan. Also active in the research and dissemination of aquaculture technologies, and collaboration on many research projects with regional fisheries bodies, national research organisations, NGOs and the FAO.
For eight years the Administrator of the Division of Aquaculture at Stellenbosch University and Tilapia Research Project Leader, he has edited the Joint Newsletter of the Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa and the Aquaculture Institute of South Africa for over ten years.
