Abhijit Bhatia is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Rakuten Medical and the Chairman of the Board for Medlight, Rakuten Medical Taiwan, and Rakuten Medical Pvt. Ltd. (India). He oversees global strategy, operations, corporate and business development functions. With over 20 years of experience in biopharma, Abhijit has led strategic partnerships with large and mid-stage pharmaceutical companies and played a key role in securing over $600 million in funding for Rakuten Medical. Previously, he held scientific and management positions at Amgen, Celgene, and Abraxis Bioscience. Abhijit earned his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from CSU, Ohio, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
