Colleen is a co-founder and CEO of Freya Biosciences, which is developing microbial immunotherapies for women’s health conditions. She is an epidemiologist with over 17 years of experience in the life sciences field. She co-founded Freya in 2020 with the aim of developing critically needed therapeutics for women. She approaches her work and team at Freya with urgency, passion and drive to harness cutting edge science to deliver solutions for the patients that Freya’s therapeutics will serve.
She previously held leadership positions at the World Health Organization, both in clinical research focused on multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis, and international emergency operations. Colleen received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, her Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and her PhD (DPhil) in Perinatal Epidemiology from the University of Oxford where she studied the reproductive microbiome and associated pregnancy outcomes.
