Sara N. Santos is a Senior Scientist at Stemmatters, a fully integrated CDMO dedicated to advancing human cell and tissue products, as well as next-generation cell and gene therapies. Building on her expertise in cell encapsulation systems and biomaterials engineering, she focuses on developing innovative materials that enhance the efficiency, scalability, and therapeutic potential of CGTs.

Sara earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, complemented by a Fulbright-supported research stay at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation in Los Angeles, and was awarded the prestigious EDA Julia Polak Award. At Stemmatters, she bridges scientific innovation and translational application, supporting the company’s mission to accelerate the delivery of advanced therapies to patients.
