Yu Guang Wang is the Founder and CEO of Toursynbio. He is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Natural Sciences, School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Computer Science, and the Bio-X Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He also serves as the Co-Director of the AI+X Center at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Chongqing Institute of AI, and as an Adjunct Professor at Shanghai AI Laboratory, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and Monash University in Australia. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of New South Wales and previously worked as a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Germany. His long-term research focuses on geometric deep learning, graph neural networks, applied harmonic analysis, Bayesian inference, information geometry, and numerical analysis, with a primary emphasis on the practical applications of these theories in biomedicine and protein design. He has published over 100 papers in top-tier AI and applied mathematics journals and serves on the editorial boards of multiple leading international journals. He was selected for a national overseas high-level talent program in 2021. In 2024, he served as an invited speaker at the World Laureates Association (WLA) Intelligence Origin and as the Chair of the Organizing Committee for the Learning on Graphs (LOG) Conference. He is also a recipient of the First Prize at the Suzhou International AI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition finals and the MegaRobo Engineer Award.
