Profile
John is a marine environmental scientist specialising in ships and ports. His ship work encompasses their full life spectrum, from concept development and design, through build, operations, maintenance, decommissioning and disposal, founded upon his 20+ years’ service in the Royal Australian Navy. John has conducted over 600 ship biofouling inspections and assessments, and has contributed at all levels from ship design advisories through to national and international policy and regulations, including authoring various Australian national guidelines and sections of the current IMO biofouling guidelines. His qualifications span environmental and marine science and management, commercial diving, and a diploma in naval architecture.
