Mr. Timothy Lu
Co-founder & CEO at Senti Bio
Speaker

Profile

Dr. Tim Lu is a computer science and bioengineering innovator who was among the first to publish on building logic and memory into living cells. He co-founded Senti Bio in 2016, which has been at the forefront of advancing "Logic Gated" cell therapies that can selectively kill cancer while sparing healthy cells. At ASH 2025, Senti announced pioneering data showing that its Logic Gated SENTI-202 program achieved deep, durable responses with a well-tolerated safety profile in heavily pre-treated relapsed/refractory AML patients, thus validating this novel therapeutic technology. Senti's Logic Gates can function in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including NK cells, T cells, and in vivo CAR, to tackle liquid and solid tumors that lack clean targets.

Dr. Lu was a tenured MIT faculty member in the departments of Biological Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. In addition, Dr. Lu has been a co-founder and a Scientific Advisory Board member to a number of biotechnology companies, including Tango Therapeutics, Eligo Biosciences, Enleofen, and others.

Dr. Lu earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as part of the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Medical Engineering and Medical Physics Program. Dr. Lu has extensive experience in the field of synthetic biology and has received numerous awards: the NIH New Innovator Award, the US Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, MIT Technology Review’s TR35, Navy and Army Young Investigator Prizes and others.
