Each year, the BUILDEX team works with local organizations and charities to help support the local community and industry in which the event takes place.
2026 charity partner: The Forge
The Forge is an initiative developed to address the skilled trades' mental health crisis. With the input of tradespeople with lived experience, we offer supports that foster trust, reduce stigma, and connect workers to resources that will support their pathway to wellness. Our approach is simple: Tradespeople supporting tradespeople.
Student Day @ BUILDEX
This full-day event is an opportunity for high school students to hear from industry professionals working on the tools, engaged in design, focused on accessibility, and providing leadership in construction management. In partnership with BUILDEX, this event is sponsored by SkilledTradesBC as a Youth DISCOVER the Trades program, along with financial support from BC Building Trades and BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment.
2026 Student Design Charrette at BUILDEX
Join us in experiencing the energy of collaboration as 4th year interior design students work in mixed groups from BCIT, KPU and VIU. The charrette will be in alignment with ‘Renewal’, this year’s theme for the PIDAA SHINE Awards.
