Maryam is Qamar Energy’s lead consultant covering the Middle East’s energy spectrum.
She has been at the forefront of investigating the region’s latest energy developments and providing commercial and economic consulting, business analysis, and strategic recommendations for the future supply of energy in an increasingly climate action-driven world for various governmental and private stakeholders, with particular focus on hydrogen, carbon capture use and storage, and renewables.
Maryam has co-authored Powering Iraq: Challenges Facing the Electricity Sector in Iraq for the Al Bayan Center for Planning & Studies, Renewable Energy Market Analysis: GCC 2019 for IRENA, and was the supporting author for the flagship report, The UAE’s Role in the Global Hydrogen Economy, prepared on behalf of ADNOC and the UAE Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure.
Maryam writes for leading energy websites and international media outlets, and has been a speaker for the Energy Industries Council, the Derasat Foundation, the Sharjah Research Technology & Innovation Park, and others.
She graduated summa cum laude as a Master of International Studies from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, with specialisation in Middle East energy security and foreign policy, and knows 5 languages.
