Lonnie MoulderFounding General Partner, Tellus BioVentures and Venture Advisor at NEA
Lonnie is the Founding General Partner of Tellus BioVentures and a Venture Advisor to NEA, a leading venture capital firm. He served as CEO and Director of TESARO from cofounding the company in 2010 through its acquisition by GlaxoSmithKline in January 2019. He previously served as President & CEO and a Director of Abraxis BioScience. In 2008 Lonnie served as Vice Chairman of Eisai Corporation of North America following Eisai’s acquisition of MGI PHARMA, where he served as President & CEO and a Director beginning in 2003. Lonnie joined MGI PHARMA in 1999 following an eighteen career in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Lonnie has served on the Temple University Board of Trustees since 2013, is Chair of the Temple University-Japan Board and serves on the Fox Chase Cancer Center Board. He is a Council Member for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is Chair of the Board of Directors of Trevena, Inc. He previously served on the boards of Cubist Pharmaceuticals and BIO.
Lonnie is also the owner-operator of the Commodore Farm & Vineyard.
Lonnie was co-recipient, along with Mary Lynne Hedley, of the E&Y 2017 National Entrepreneur of the Year Overall-award and Life Sciences-award, and in 2018 he was named to the Institutional Investor All American Executive Team as Best Biotechnology Mid-Cap CEO.
Lonnie Received a Pharmacy degree from Temple University in 1980 and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1997.
