Dr. Achim Plum has served as Managing Director of HTGF since January 2025, with a focus on Life Sciences & Chemistry. Holding a Ph.D. in Genetics, he combines scientific expertise with more than 25 years of entrepreneurial and strategic experience in the life sciences and healthcare industries. He studied Biology at the University of Bonn and earned his doctorate in Genetics following a period of study at the University of East Anglia. Dr. Plum has held various management positions at companies including Epigenomics, Siemens, Curetis, Ares Genetics, SphingoTech, and InfanDx. In executive leadership roles, as well as advisory and supervisory board positions at both early-stage and growth companies and globally operating technology corporations, he has successfully built processes, established organizational structures, and guided organizations through periods of significant growth. Dr. Plum has supported two initial public offerings (IPOs) and possesses extensive expertise in corporate financing across all stages of development—from seed funding to exit. He brings deep knowledge in diagnostics, precision medicine, life science tools, and medical technology, as well as valuable experience in bridging the gap between startups and large corporations. These strengths contribute to the continued development and growth of HTGF’s portfolio.
