The CIPD Profession Map

The CIPD Profession Map is the international standard for the people profession. It helps us to make better decisions, act with confidence, drive change in our organisations and progress in our careers. It does this by setting out the purpose, values, core knowledge, behaviours and specialist knowledge that make a positive impact, whatever our career level or specialism.

It can be used by individuals and by teams, members and non-members alike. It works for HR, L&D, OD and all other specialist roles in the people profession.

The Profession Map prepares us for adapting to different contexts and changes, so that our work is based on solid foundations, even where no obvious solutions, rules or precedents exist. And it is designed to evolve as new roles, specialisms, priorities and opportunities emerge.

Evidence-based L&D – The gift of artificial intelligence

Rapid digital innovation has revolutionised how we work and learn. But despite AI’s vast potential, scepticism still prevails. Do L&D professionals need greater curiosity to explore how AI can better support them and bolster learning outcomes?

Digital innovation has continued to move at an unprecedented pace. The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is making waves in core areas of business practice, and equally, if not more so, in the realm of L&D. 2023 research from the CIPD revealed that just 5% of respondents currently use AI to support L&D, with a modest 6% additionally planning to use AI into 2024. So what’s the opportunity here for learning professionals?

Join Nigel Cassidy and Radha Bharj, Co-founder of Rythmik and Erica Farmer, Co-founder of Quantum Rise, as we explore how learning professionals can embrace the disruption AI offers to increase their capacity to deliver impactful and effective learning for organisations?
