Deep dive into critical topics with Greenbuild's Summits

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing how we design, construct, and manage the built environment. This summit delves into practical, real-world applications of AI that deliver measurable sustainability outcomes while critically examining the challenges, gaps, and unintended consequences.

Intensifying wildfires, increasing flood risks, and record-breaking heatwaves are reshaping how we think about building performance. As climate hazards escalate, the ability of buildings to protect occupants and maintain functionality is essential to resilience planning. This Summit explores how buildings can be designed and retrofitted to withstand the growing threats of fire, flood, and heat.

There has never been a more important time for building materials. Quickening climate change, rapid habitat destruction, and increased threats to human and ecological health mean the world faces big challenges this generation. However, innovative materials manufacturers, owners, designers, and construction teams are leading the way towards reducing impact and reversing harms. This summit will focus on solutions that building materials provide to these challenges and deliver impactful takeaways that attendees can start practicing today.

Awareness of the impacts of the built environment on human health and adoption of strategies to enhance the wellbeing of building occupants through design has grown since the green building movement was launched. This Summit looks past occupants alone and considers the impacts of buildings on the health of supply chain workers, neighboring communities, and communities exposed to extraction, manufacturing, and disposal facilities; and looks past the average occupant to envision spaces that are safe and accessible for all.

Phius passive building principles offer a path to a built environment that supports the health of people and the planet. The Phius Standard is already being implemented to create healthy, efficient, resilient buildings of all types and sizes in climate zones across the United States and beyond. Fostering the continued uptake of Phius projects is a multifaceted effort rooted in the sharing of knowledge among green building professionals.

Highlights from 2024

Greenbuild 2024 is a wrap! Thousands of sustainability professionals joined us in Philadelphia for an unforgettable experience for the green building community.

There were inspiring keynotes, 100+ expert-led CE accredited sessions, dedicated networking activities, and evening events that will left the industry talking.

Greenbuild's Legacy Project

Last year, the Greenbuild 2024 Legacy Project was "East Parkside, Past and Future: Building a Sustainable Community" and focused on the East Parkside neighborhood in West Philadelphia. This project is from the Centennial Parkside Community Development Corporation (CPCDC), and worked on activating public spaces that spark conversations between the past and future East Parkside. Through this approach, the Legacy Project linked stories of the rich legacy and culture of community leadership and connectedness; the once vibrant neighborhood corridors; and the neighborhood’s historic significance to Philadelphia.

This year, the Legacy Project will be focused on Los Angeles. Details for Greenbuild's 2025 Legacy Project in Los Angeles are coming soon!
